We’re preparing for the next step…

July 16, 2021 by Fatal Attraction

Monday 19th July will see the start of our next step towards the “new normal”, which will undoubtedly present a whole new set of challenges!

During the next phase of lifting restrictions, our number one priority is the safety of our clients and our team. While we are very much looking forward to returning to a more relaxed way of working, we are also very aware that our primary duty of care is the continued safety of our clients and our team.

As from July 19th we have adapted our “Visiting the Salon Guidelines”. Our salons will not be operating at full capacity as we maintain social distancing. Our stylists will be encouraged to wear masks where appropriate, and be regularly tested. Extra cleaning measures will continue, sanitising points will remain and NHS Track and Trace will continue to be available for clients if they wish to check in.

Our aim is to continue to provide a safe environment for our clients, so as restrictions are lifted, we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. Despite having to take these measures, it is important to us that you are still able to relax and enjoy your visit and we will ensure you receive the best possible service, afterall our aim is for you to leave our salon looking totally gorgeous and feeling revitalised!

It is becoming apparent that the ‘track and trace’ isolation policy could impact our staffing levels over the next few weeks, so in an effort to keep things moving in the right direction, we would appreciate it if you could help us by being as considerate as possible to other clients and our team as we progress through this next phase.

Our revised guidelines are set out below which will hopefully answer any questions you have about visiting our salons as from 19th July.

COVID-19 POLICY

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, please do not come to the salon, instead please contact the salon by telephone as soon as possible so that we can reschedule your appointment.

VISITING THE SALON – GUIDELINES

Before you visit our salon, please be reminded of the following:

• Please arrive on time for your appointment.

• If you arrive early, please wait outside the salon, socially distanced and wait to be invited in.

• We would prefer you to wear a mask in the salon, so please remember to bring this with you. We do have these available should you forget.

• Hand sanitiser is available when you enter and leave the salon.

• You will be taken to your designated chair by your stylist on arrival.

• We are able to provide complimentary hot beverages, or bottled water, or you can bring your own.

• As from 19th July we will be able to provide magazines, or you can bring a your own, or a book we also have free WIFI too!

• Please keep your personal belongings with you at all times and only bring the bare essentials with you into the salon.

• We are aiming to go contactless and prefer card payments, although cash is being accepted.

• For those of you who would prefer to visit us when the salon is quieter, or if you have any other concerns about the latest guidance and procedures, please do get in touch.

Finally we would like to send you our heart felt thanks for your continued support and as always, we look forward to welcoming you to our salons this summer.

Love from Des, Tracie and the FA Creative Team xxx

It’s time to spring into summer and feel good!

May 20, 2021 by Fatal Attraction

As the restrictions are gradually being lifted this week and life begins to feel a bit more normal, (even though the weather feels more like April!), it is still essential to make time to focus on your own wellbeing – to pause, relax and feel GOOD.

At Fatal Attraction we look forward to welcoming you back to our salon, to brighten your day and make you look and feel totally gorgeous!

While times remain very challenging for everyone right now, the FA Creative Team continues to work hard to ensure your visit is enjoyable and relaxing. Safety is our main priority and we are therefore working with a maximum of 4 stylists in our salons, in line with the latest guidance. All equipment, chairs and basins are cleaned and sanitised in between clients, so you can sit back, relax and rest assured you are in safe hands.

Our complimentary refreshments will be offered during your hair service, from our delicious cappuccinos to calming herbal teas – it’s time to enjoy life’s little luxuries that keep us smiling and make us happy!

SKIN TESTS
Just a quick reminder that due to our latest industry and government guidance regarding Covid-19 and the vaccination programme, we are required to skin test everyone who is having a colour or chemical treatment at least 48hrs prior to their appointment, so please pop into the salon to have this done.

LET’S STAY SAFE!
When you enter the salon a QR code is displayed for you to scan if you have the new NHS covid 19 test & trace app on your mobile phone. Alternatively your contact details will be taken and passed to the NHS if required.

VISITING GUIDELINES
As a reminder, please see the safety guidelines for your visit to the salon below.
• Please, please, please arrive on time for your appointment!!
• If you arrive early, please wait outside the salon, socially distanced and wait to be invited in.
• You must wear a mask in the salon, so please remember to bring this with you. We do have these available should you forget.
• Hand sanitiser is available when you enter and leave the salon.
• You will be taken to your designated chair by your stylist on arrival.
• We are now able to provide hot beverages and bottled water, or you can bring your own.
• Due to hygiene reasons, we are not able to provide magazines, so please bring a your own, or a book and don’t forget we have free WIFI too!
• Please keep your personal belongings with you and only bring the bare essentials into the salon.
• Please note we are aiming to go contactless and prefer card payments, although cash is being accepted.

For those of you who would prefer to visit us when the salon is quieter, or if you have any other concerns about the new procedures, please do get in touch.

Our on-line booking system is back up and running. Please note we will be taking a 50% deposit and you will receive either an email or text notification confirming your appointment. If you would prefer to give us a call to discuss your requirements, that’s absolutely fine too!

Your hair appointment at Fatal Attraction is reserved specifically for you. We’d therefore appreciate it if you could kindly notify us 48 hours in advance if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, please do not come to the salon, instead please telephone the salon as soon as possible so that we can reschedule your appointment.

We’re so happy to be back!

May 5, 2021 by Fatal Attraction

WELCOME BACK!
It’s been lovely to welcome so many of you back to our salons.
We have been extremely busy rescheduling appointments and working through our waiting list – we’ve managed to contact most of you however if we haven’t yet been in touch, please give us a call:

Colchester (01206) 547333 or for Sudbury (01787) 310031
Or email us info@fatalattractionhairdesign.co.uk

We are also re-opening our on-line booking system from 1st May.

SKIN TESTS
As part of the latest industry advice, we will also require everyone having a colour treatment to be re-skin tested at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please note no appointments will be permitted without a skin test due to new Health & Safety regulations regarding Covid-19. Please read through the following information which explains why…

COVID-19 AMENDMENT
Contracting COVID-19 or receiving the COVID-19 vaccination is classed as a medical change. As COVID can be asymptomatic and with the rollout of the vaccination programme we must skin test ALL clients before their first hair colour treatment from lockdown.

You must have another skin test if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or had a COVID vaccination since your last colour, as this may impact your risk level of having a reaction.

If you have had a COVID vaccination, you will need to wait at least TWO WEEKS after, before we perform a skin test, just in case a reaction presents itself and the cause can be determined.

A ‘Skin Test’ (hair colour) must be booked as close as possible to your scheduled treatment, but at least 48hrs before. Contracting or having a vaccination for COVID-19 means we have to carry out a new skin test. Keeping the time period between your skin test and scheduled treatment close reduces the likelihood of having to reschedule your appointment.

BOOKING / CANCELLATION POLICY
We will be taking £20 deposits on all appointments to secure your booking, so please have your card ready for your payment when calling!
If you book on-line you will be asked for a 50% deposit.

Please note, should you need to change or cancel your appointment we will require at least 48 hours’ notice. Please view our full cancellation policy on our website.

IN-SALON GUIDELINES
In order to work within the latest government restrictions, we will continue to work with reduced staff, following social distancing. Please wear a mask at all times while in our salon, to ensure we keep you and our staff safe, unless you are exempt for medical reasons (please advise us prior to your visit).

Please be kind and patient with our team; they are doing their very best working under difficult conditions to make you all feel and look amazing. Should you however have any concerns please contact Tracie Webb by emailing info@fatalattractionhairdesign.co.uk

We have really appreciated all your kind messages of support throughout this very challenging time and thanks once again for your patience and understanding.

We have a date, let’s celebrate!

February 23, 2021 by Fatal Attraction

WE HAVE A DATE, LET’S CELEBRATE 🥂
Thanks to all our wonderful clients for your patience during these difficult times. This winter has been particularly hard and we have definitely felt the effects of this lockdown more so than the two previous lockdowns. So let’s all hope we have reached a turning point and that we never have to go back and instead we can begin to look forwards to the rest of this year with a lot more positivity.

SALON RE-OPENING 12TH APRIL
With the latest announcement from Boris yesterday evening, it’s looking hopeful that we’ll be able to re-open our salons from 12th of April. That’s 49 days and counting!!

Of course we will continue to follow the government and NHS guidance – so this date may change and we will also be preparing for this eventuality. We will keep you posted of any changes. Depending on the situation at the time, this may affect some rescheduled appointments, but we will try and make sure everyone is catered for as soon as possible, so please bear with us.

BOOKING SYSTEM
For the moment we are not taking bookings on-line, however we have put together a priority list and we will contact you as follows:
1. Those of you that have had missed appointments during lockdown in date order, from Boxing Day onwards, in order to reschedule.
2. For those of you wishing to book new appointments, we have set up a waiting list (please see details below) and we will contact all clients on the list in turn.
3. Once the missed appointments have been rescheduled and all waiting list appointments booked, we will then re-open our on-line booking system for new appointments.

IN ORDER TO BE ADDED TO OUR WAITING LIST:
• Please DM us or email info@fatalattractionhairdesign.co.uk
• Please include your full name, contact number and the salon you visit (Sudbury/Colchester) along with the service you require and your preferred stylist.
• Please do not telephone, as one of our team will contact you in the priority order set out above.

We are so grateful for your loyalty, support and kindness during the past couple of months and we are really looking forward to welcoming you back very soon. As always, please stay safe.

Love from Des, Tracie and the FA Creative Team xx

Take our 30 day challenge!

February 18, 2021 by Fatal Attraction

TAKE OUR 30 DAY CHALLENGE AND REPAIR YOUR HAIR NATURALLY….

Now the snow has thawed and the first signs of Spring are arriving, why not take on our 30 day challenge to repair your hair naturally!

While we are still in lockdown and awaiting further news from No. 10,  you have a great opportunity to take on our challenge, especially as we’re “not going out”, so why not give it a go?

We are all unique and so is our hair, however by using your hair’s natural oils, you can transform its condition.

Yes we know the first week will be the toughest, but if you commit to this challenge, we guarantee you will see results after 30 days.

To give you extra encouragement, please send us your “before and after” photos, and share your success stories with us.

All those taking part in the challenge will be entered into a prize draw to win a Rigby & Peller hairbrush.

GIVE IT A GO….

1. If you have very damaged or coarse / afro hair – you will need total dedication and commitment to the 30 day challenge and beyond (up to 3 months) to improve condition

2. If you have moderately damaged / home coloured / dry, frizzy ends – you will see results after the 30 day challenge, however you’ll probably need to continue beyond 30 days to achieve the best results

3. If you have never had great hair for one reason or another, which can often be fine / lifeless / flat / no body / too much body or a tendency to frizz – after just 30 days, condition will improve

4. If have good hair already but you simply want to get your hair in the very best possible condition, your hair will find the right place if you follow the correct procedure and your hair will not become over greasy or lifeless

5. If you would like to change your lifestyle and use a natural, non-chemical approach to your hair care

The three main factors that damage our hair is over shampooing, using too much heat and excessive chemical applications. So if you fancy a challenge, follow these steps exactly!

1. Stop shampooing!

Shampoo takes the natural oils out of your hair.

2. Start brushing!

For a natural way to cleanse your hair, brush or comb between 100-200 times a day, ideally 100 times in the morning and again before you go to bed.

Brush recommendations

Depending on how thick/coarse or fine your hair is will depend on the type of comb or brush you will need to use:

• Very fine – fine soft bristle/ fine tooth comb

• Medium – medium bristle brush/fine/medium tooth comb

• Thick – coarse larger bristle brush/medium tooth comb

• Very coarse/afro – very coarse strong brush/wide tooth comb

The brush or comb needs to able to separate each strand, without pulling or stressing the hair, but able to distribute your natural oils from the roots, down through your hair to the ends.

3. Rinse wash only

Massage your scalp as vigorously as you would with shampoo, but without it and rinse well, as often as you like.

4. Continue the above steps for 30 days

Most people will be able to see a change to the condition after just 3 weeks: bounce, fullness, shine, smoother/thicker (this may take longer for more coarse, dry or damaged hair).

5. Try to avoid using heat

Although you can continue to blow dry as and when you like, you will see quicker and better results by avoiding heat altogether.

6. Continue to use heat protect products when using heat

Styling products can be used but as times goes on you will need less to achieve better results than you did before! You can use water based products if needed but you will need less than normal, so be aware not to overload the hair, remember you are trying to give your hair time to repair!!

7. Styling

Rollers, rags, brushes and styling aids of all kinds are still ok to use, as these help with styling during the hair repair process.

8. After 30 days…. brings you naturally improved hair

In time you can add products and shampoo again, but hopefully not as much or as often and by using the correct products that we recommend for your hair type.

We have seen some amazing transformations in the past and have many clients that have not needed to wash their hair so often by knowing what it needs. Best of all this process is free and 100% natural.

If you need any further advice on haircare during the weeks ahead, you can email us at any time at info@fatalattractionhairdesign.co.uk – we’d love to hear from you.

Finally, don’t forget to keep hydrated and take regular exercise – even if it’s just going out for a daily walk, it will boost your overall sense of wellbeing. Following these simple changes to your lifestyle can make a big difference.

Hopefully we will have a clearer indication of when we will be allowed to re-open our salon soon, but until then, please stay safe and take care.

Love from

Des, Tracie & the FA Creative Team xxx
